Whistleblower Reveals Undisclosed Ties
A British whistleblower, Simon Andriesz, has brought to light evidence suggesting that Howard Lutnick, appointed as US Commerce Secretary, had undisclosed business ties with Jeffrey Epstein. Andriesz, a former managing director at a Wall Street firm, uncovered an email thread from 2018 where Lutnick and Epstein discussed a mutual business venture, which he shared with the US House Oversight Committee prior to Lutnick's testimony in May. Lutnick claimed he was unaware of Epstein's involvement until this year, and the US Commerce Department stated there was no evidence of misconduct.
Previous Business Dealings
Further examination of the Epstein files revealed that in 2013, Lutnick's firm considered engaging in business with Prince Andrew by leveraging the prince's connections. The plan involved a £1 million loan to the prince to secure exclusive business dealings with Cantor Fitzgerald. Although the discussions took place over several months, the deal eventually fell through.

Simon Andriesz, who was previously in a dispute with his former employer, BGC Partners, delved into the extensive Epstein files. He discovered his own name within the documents relating to interviews he had given to the FBI concerning allegations of irregularities at BGC. His findings led to BGC being fined by the US derivatives regulator for various violations. Despite BGC's denial of Andriesz's claims, he continued to explore the files, finding emails suggesting Lutnick's undeclared business relationship with Epstein.
Committee Hearing and Lutnick's Denial
During a committee hearing, Lutnick reiterated his lack of knowledge regarding Epstein's investment in their shared business venture. Despite this, all 21 Democrats on the committee accused him of falsehoods and demanded his resignation. The US Commerce Department dismissed the allegations as a partisan distraction, emphasizing no wrongdoing was evident.

Now residing in Cornwall, Andriesz has faced significant personal and professional challenges due to his whistleblowing. Although awarded $420,000 for his actions, he argues that authorities have not adequately addressed the repercussions from his former employer. BGC maintains that it has not retaliated against him and denies any wrongdoing following his departure.
